Bearing Down On Ice

All the good folk say they can move into the water without trying very hard. Some folklore traditions say that evil cannot cross moving water but no one has ever explained why that is so. Perhaps it has something to do with the fact that tribes used to rely upon mighty rivers to defend them against their deadly enemies. Many ancient wars were lost when armies found ways to cross rushing rivers.
